Opened topped tanks and vats can be heated by either side entry type heaters fitted through the side of the tank or top entry type heaters inserted into the top of the tank. Please contact our Technical Department to obtain a suitable specification of heaters for this application. Please provide details of the chemicals being heated including their concentrations.
Side entry heaters fitted to the base of the tank tend to be more convenient as the elements and terminal enclosures are less likely to be damaged or become obstructive to the use of the tank. Fixed element type heaters such as our WR and WF ranges may be specified by our Technical Department. Removable core type heaters are more robust and less likely to get entangled in objects being inserted into the tank. Our HO, HF and OD ranges of heater may be specified by our Technical Department.
Top entry Vat heaters with elements that extend to the bottom of the tank are easier to install and remove. Our Technical Department may specify our RV or SH ranges of heater. It should be noted that only the contents of the tank above the heating elements will be heated. It is therefore important to ensure that any top entry type heaters should have elements that reach the bottom of the tank.
Where it is advantageous not to have any elements in the tank then flow heaters would be recommended.
