Plating solutions in opened topped tanks and vats can be heated by either side entry type heaters or top entry heaters inserted into the top of the tank.
Side entry heaters fitted to the base of the tank tend to be more convenient as the elements and terminal enclosures are less likely to be damaged or become obstructive to the use of the tank. Fixed element type heaters such as our WR and WF ranges can be specified by our Technical Department. Removable core type heaters are more robust and less likely to get entangled in objects being inserted into the tank. Please refer to our HO, HF and OD ranges.
Top entry Vat heaters (RV and SH ranges) are easier to install and remove. It should be noted that only the contents of the tank above the heating elements will be heated. It is therefore important to ensure that any top entry type heaters should have elements that reach the bottom of the tank.
Where it is advantageous not to have any elements in the tank then flow heaters would be recommended.
