Applications

*Equivalent is defined as being of similar element watts densities and element sheath materials. Please note that Redring heaters incorporate Incoloy 825 elements. Please see the Howden WR range of Nicalloy 825 element heaters. Nicalloy 825 is equivalent to Incoloy 825.

Standard Range
The Howden RX range provides models ranging from 1kW to 15kW in 2″ BSP and 2.25″BSP. Many models are kept in stock.
Typical applications for the standard range include:
- Domestic Hot Water (DHW) in cylinders and calorifiers
- Anti-frost applications
- OEM equipment
Custom Applications
The flexibility of our manufacturing process means that heaters can be custom manufactured to suit specific applications. These can be single units or batches, both at cost effective prices.

- Enclosure designed to IP55.
- Most models are fitted with a control thermostat and over-temperature, safety thermostat.
- 6kW models available that do not require to be wired through a contactor.

- 6 kW models available that do not require to be wired through a contactor.
- Maximum design temperature of 90ºC.
- Maximum design pressure of 6bar.
- Equivalent to certain Santon, Heatrae and Redring* immersion heaters.
- Despatch – generally ex-stock.
Options for custom made immersion heaters:
- Lower watts density elements.
- Nicalloy 825 corrosion resistant elements.
- Operating voltages up to 480V.
